I just remembered that I had intended long ago to post the buffalo pictures from my trip this summer. That's just how dense I can be I guess. The series of pictures that follow were taken in Badlands National Park in South Dakota.

This picture was taken at the exact moment that I realized I wasn't going to get any closer to this buffalo. A split second later I had run back to the car like a scared school girl.

Entitled "Get Out of Dodge!!!" I think this guy was the ringleader and he wasn't too happy about us invading his space. Soon after his call the rest of the herd began to move north.

The calves were quite curious about us and very clumsy in their movements. They reminded me of my seventh-grade year of life. Ug. I'll move on now.

The staredown. The big guy in the middle of the picture locked eyes with us (Matt driving the car, Dave standing, and me taking the picture). Eventually the big guy blinked and moved on, and we celebrated winning the staredown. Okay maybe we didn't exactly celebrate, and maybe the buffalo was just the token herd idiot, but we still won.
