We met up with the incredibly talented, master of everything Benjamin Eugene Norquist (better known as Bennie U.) while driving through Hudson, Wiscounsin on Monday. The impromptu meeting was extra special, since it wasn't originally on our agenda (no offense, Ben. we forgot where you lived). Ben helped us out by showing us where we could find the Wiscouncin-Minnesota state line. We decided once we started heading west that we would stop at the state line and each drive a few golf balls across the barrier. The Wiscouncin-Minnesota state line just happened to be the St. Croiux River. Snead came the closest to crossing, though Dave gave a wicked smack with our lone right-hander's club, a five iron.
Dave, there's nothing really inherently funny about driving a golf ball across the state line.
I was quite happy that I actually connected on my two right-handed drives.
Ben's eyes widened. "I don't know if you can hit Minnesota, but I bet you guys could hit Beer Bottle Island!" The island is frequented my juvenile delinquents and others of the same family. Snead drive here, aided by a brisk wind from the back, easily made land...we just hope it didn't hit one of the locals visiting the cultural escape. No one gave off any sign of pain, but then again, maybe the couldn 't feel it.
The hands takes in the view of the St. Croiux River.
Cory Krueger (BC class of 97) in St. Paul Monday night.
We're about to head into a "black hole" of sorts for any posts. We leave at 5 a.m. (in a few hours) for the Badlands and we don't expect to stay overnight in a house for the next four days. Updates will be coming asap.
