There is an 'I' in 'Ideal'
Most life lessons that I have experienced would not have been learned without some form of struggle or heartache serving as the catalyst. I'm forever grateful for the lessons the Lord has taught me and his gracious sustaining hand through the trial, but I wish I could forget the process that led to the lessons being learned.
This was the beginning of my journal entry for the day. I'll spare you from the rest, save for the thought that I realized today that I'm an incredibly idealistic and selfish person at my core. What other explanation can there be for someone who ponders how to improve upon God's methods for bringing about spiritual growth? In short, I came up with the brilliant conclusion that God could show himself to be more loving if he would allow us to forget the struggles and hurt that were key to times of spiritual growth. Wow. Genius. (just a hint of sarcasm)
